Family Evacuation

This is Omer Eltom and Najlaa Eltom, we are seeking help to evacuate our family from Sudan to Uganda.

A war between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) erupted in Sudan in April 2023. Seeking refuge from violence, our family continued to flee from town to town. Our mother suffers from Alzheimer's and respiratory issues and her safety is compromised by the ongoing violence. She needs professional and sustained medical care which is not available in Sudan at this point.

When the RSF militia attacked Medani on December 15th, our family, including small children, was forced to flee for the third time in six months. During the last evacuation, our mother was taken in an ambulance from Sennar to Port Sudan (1105 km). Her health deteriorated and she had to be rushed to the hospital. We need your support to carry out an urgent medical evacuation for our mother, and a humanitarian evacuation for our two sisters and five grandchildren of whom three are under five years. They all need to evacuate urgently to Uganda where they can reach safety and medical care. We need your support to cover travel costs, medical expenses, issuing identification papers and passports, and securing housing in Uganda for the first four weeks. Please contribute what you can, no donation is too small to make a difference.

We also hope that you talk more about the atrocities committed against the people in Sudan including ethnic cleansing, murder, forced displacement, rape, looting, and a complete destruction of infrastructure, national archives, and cultural assets.
