Walk to Support Affordable Housing & Job Training

Did you know that 7 Addgenies received training from the local nonprofit organization Just-A-Start? We are thrilled to have these Addgenies on our team and are giving back by supporting Just-A-Start with their project to expand their biomedical job training program and build more units of affordable housing.

Addgene will be hosting a fundraising walk for Just-A-Start on Friday, June 2nd at 9:30AM. This will be a neighborhood walk of 1 mile from headquarters to a nearby park, with the option of adding on more distance by walking laps at the park. Dogs are welcome and we will also be providing breakfast and refreshments at the park.

Just A Start believes that access to stable housing and sustainable careers are the essential building blocks of equitable communities. For more than 50 years, they have focused on meeting the fundamental needs of individuals and families who have been systemically denied opportunities to realize their full potential. Their programs include affordable housing, education and job training, and comprehensive support services, and they support over 1,500 people in the greater Boston area each year.
