Hi all, my name is Mary Barlow. I’m reaching out asking for prayer and trying to help raise funds for my sister’s family, the Johnsons, as they recover from the flooding in Milwaukee, WI. My sister’s family, Josh, Meghan, Marge, Caleb, Ethan, and Moriah, have been blessed by the fact that insurance covered a portion of what it’s going to cost to empty out, gut, clean, sanitize, and redo their basement. They’ve also been blessed and are thankful for having help from some friends at Green Lake Property Management. Timothy drives from Fond Du Lac every day to continue to help in restoring their home.

My family and the Johnson family left for a family vacation to SC on the 9th of August and arrived after two days of driving on the 10th, only to receive news that their basement flooded and was now covered in sewage waste. Josh left the next morning to start getting things taken care of in the basement, while his family and mine stayed for the planned family vacation. Josh, Timothy, and Matt Pagel worked to get all the damaged furniture, personal items, clothes, and beds out of the basement and to the curb while salvaging what they could. The restoration process has made progress but only so much can be done at a time.

Carpet and drywall have been torn out, the inside of the basement and inside the walls has been cleaned, sanitized, and dried out, and new drywall has been put up. Moving forward, new carpeting needs to be put in and the walls painted.

Along with prayers for the Johnson family, I’d like to ask for prayers for all the other families that have been affected by this flooding, as they work endlessly to clean up and get things back to a somewhat normal state.
