Our Story
My name is Pascal Curran, and I work in Advice First Financial here in Donegal.
This year our team decided to do something slightly outside our comfort zone to support a local cause.
On the 17th April, six of us from the Advice First team are jumping out of a perfectly good aeroplane.
(Was to be the 27th March, but the company had an issue with their plane)
Advice First is covering the full cost of the skydive, and apparently breakfast in Kiernan's in Newtowncunningham afterwards ,
so 100% of every euro raised goes directly to Lifestart Services Donegal.
The reason is simple. We want to raise funds for Lifestart Services Donegal, part of The Parenting Organisation Donegal, which provides parenting education, child development support and practical help for families across the county.
ORGANISATION PROFILE
Through their Lifestart home-visiting programme, parents receive guidance and support from pregnancy through the early years of a child’s life. Those first few years are hugely important in shaping a child’s development, and the programme helps parents understand how children grow, learn and thrive from birth to five years of age.
Alongside this, the organisation also provides parenting programmes, family support services and practical assistance for families who may be facing additional challenges.
In simple terms, they help strengthen families and give children the best possible start in life.
As a local business working with families across Donegal every day, we see how important strong support networks are within a community. Organisations like Lifestart do remarkable work — often quietly — helping parents build confidence and helping children grow up in safe, supportive environments.
So, the Advice First team decided to try and help in our own slightly unconventional way.
Which brings us back to the aeroplane.
Six of us. One aeroplane. Questionable decision-making. ✈️
We are taking part in a charity skydive, and importantly Advice First Financial is covering the full cost of the jump ourselves.
That means 100% of every euro donated will go directly to Lifestart Services Donegal.
Our goal is to raise €1,000 to support the work Lifestart does with families across Donegal.
If you are able to donate — even a small amount — it will genuinely help.
If 100 people gave just €10, we would reach our €1,000 target and make a real difference for local families.
Even a €5 or €10 donation makes a difference when lots of people get involved.
And if nothing else, you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing you helped push some financial advisers out of an aeroplane for a very good cause.
Thank you for your support.
