Hi everyone!
Thank you for visiting our Go Fund Me Page! We wanted to tell you a little bit about ourselves and why we’re doing this project. The Adventure Bag Project is based out of Meridian, Idaho and is run by a couple of high schoolers (hi!) from Meridian High School. We are students in a Parenting and Child Development Class in which we learn about positive parenting practices, development, and guidance skills for children! Our teacher has challenged small groups to come together and create a community service project that directly impacts kids in our community. But why the Adventure Bag Project? We chose to do this project after researching and talking to childrens-centers in our area about what they are most in need of. A common answer was supplies for the upcoming summer weather and outdoor activities that it brings!
So, what is in an adventure bag? Our bags will consist of supplies that the childrens-centers have requested. Such as sturdy drawstring bags, spray sunscreen, metal water bottles, small notebooks, and other tools these kids might need for their outdoor adventures! All of this, however, depends upon the amount of funds we can raise. That is where you come in! We are hoping to raise 1,000 dollars to put towards this project in hopes of purchasing the tools needed to create thirty plus adventure bags ready for donation! The deadline for the project will be around the end of April. That way we will have ample time to gather the supplies and complete the project before our high school graduation in May!
We believe that it is important for this upcoming generation of kids to spend time learning outdoors. There are incredible benefits, all of which, I am sure you know! Spending time outdoors improves motor skills, muscle strength, and overall physical health. More importantly, it increases openness with parents and caregivers, cultivates a greater self-awareness, and improved peer-to-peer relationships! These are only a few reasons of why we hope to encourage kids to get outdoors through our Adventure Bag Project. We hope that you will donate to help our mission and achieve our goal.
