Ruby's Medical Journey

Hello Friends and Family,
We are excited to share our adoption journey with you. We are in the process of adopting our daughter, Ruby Noelle (Fu Tong) from China. She will be 2 years old in May. Our story has been so many answers to prayer. We want to share our story with you and have you join us on our journey to bring Ruby home.

We first saw a picture of Ruby Noelle on New Day Foster Home's website. Her name was Noelle on the website. This is the place where Chad and I lived and worked when we lived in China back in 2009-2012. We asked the director about Noelle and she couldn't tell us much other than her paperwork was still in process. After that we just went through the steps to adopt from China and didn't think we would be able to be matched with Noelle.

After a few months, the director of New Day emailed me and told me they talked to Noelle's orphanage director, whom they had a relationship with, and that her orphanage wanted us to adopt her. So we asked our agency about possibly adopting Noelle. We were basically told it is really rare to pick a child to be matched with and it is pretty much impossible. Plus other families had also asked about Noelle and they were further along in their paperwork. So we basically decided to not pursue Noelle and just wait to be matched.

A few weeks after this New Day's director emailed me again to tell me Noelle's files were becoming available soon and to tell our agency.  I knew the possibility of adopting Noelle was pretty much impossible so I just emailed our agency out of courtesy to New Day. Our agency said they would keep an eye out and let us know. A few days later we received an email telling us her file went to another agency.

Chad and I believed this was over and we would just wait to be matched once our paperwork was done. I remember telling Chad if God intends for Noelle to be our daughter He will make the impossible happen.

Two days later I received a phone call from our agency and the lady in charge of matching children with their families told me I would never believe this but Noelle's file became available and she put our name on it. She preceded to tell me this never happens and that God was working through this situation. Needless to say, Chad and I were beyond shocked and surprised!! We couldn't believe God really did make the impossible happen. God has been so faithful throughout this entire journey.

Since we were matched about a month and a half ago it has been a race to get our paperwork finished so we can get to China to complete the adoption. We decided to name her Ruby after my great grandmother and kept Noelle as her middle name.

Ruby also has a special need and will need some extra care after her adoption. She has a birth defect called Hirschsprung's Disease which means part of her large intestine didn't form correctly which caused blockages. She has had four surgeries in her first few days and months of life to remove that part of her intestine. She currently has an ostomy bag and requires a final surgery to reverse the ostomy and reattach what is left of her intestine in hopes for a normal life. The plan is to have her final surgery here in the USA after she is adopted.

We need your love and support as we continue on this journey. We need your prayers as we will most likely go to China this summer to complete the adoption and bring Ruby home. We also welcome your financial support to help with adoption fees to be able to travel to China and complete the adoption. Whatever you are able to give would be a wonderful blessing to our family.

Our family is so excited to bring Ruby home. The boys regularly ask us when will we go and get Ruby to bring her home. We can't wait to have her home with us.

Thank you for joining us in this journey and for all your love and support. We couldn't do this without you guys!

Love,
The Parkers
