Hello everyone! We are Mark and Norah Briden and we are on a journey to adopt. We are so thankful you’re here to learn about our journey, no matter how you found us.
Our story begins in 2010; we knew early on we were meant for each other. In 2015 Mark enlisted in the Army and joined Ranger Regiment, and I furthered my career as a Social Worker. Fast forward to 2017, we got married and were thrilled to start this new part of life with each other! In 2019 we began trying to build our family. Since that time, it has been a long, emotional roller coaster.
Facing 3 miscarriages, a diagnosis of “unexplained infertility”, and a cycle of IVF that produced only one viable embryo, the transfer failed and we were devastated. Despite the heartbreak and loss, we know we are meant to be parents and excited to adopt! Our desire to be parents does not only extend to biological children, but we have always wanted to adopt. Mark has a deep connection to adoption as he was adopted at age 12 by his father. This connection has further strengthened our desire to adopt and bring a baby into our family. I myself am a Social Worker and have the opportunity to work with those who have been adopted and I see the impact that adoption can have. We are lucky to have a family that goes above and beyond for us. Our families are so loving, caring and supportive. They are eager for our adoption journey and are ready to give that same love and support to our baby.
There are so many moving pieces that go into adoption; the process begins with a Home Study. The Home Study is the first step in filling out paperwork, getting references, financial statements, fingerprints, background checks, and a million other things! While we have the means to financially support and care for our child once they are here, the reality is that a substantial amount of money is needed up front to bring our baby home. We are asking for your support in our journey to adopt; we genuinely appreciate you taking the time to learn a little about us and our desire to bring a baby into our home.
