My name is Lucy and I'm starting this GoFundMe to help my parents adjust their immigration status.

My parents brought my brother, my sister and me to the US in August of 1992. Like most migrant parents, they just wanted a better life for us than what they could offer us in our home country. We had a small room to stay in for the first year with my dad's cousin. My parents did what they could to give us the life they wanted for us. A life that would have been very difficult to provide in our home country. Thanks to their hard work through the years, my siblings and I have been able to adjust our immigration status; we went to 4-year universities; and made our own family.

Now, I want to be able to pay them back for the years of hard work and the sacrifices they made for us. My parents always put our needs first... They would need medical or dental procedures, and they'd set those needs aside for our needs first. Both my parents lost their dads in 2010 and, although heartbroken, couldn't go to the funeral or grieve with their brothers/sisters. My dad also lost his mom five years later and yet again couldn't do anything but stay here and mourne alone. They have gone years without being able to see their brothers and sisters, although I know they yearn for that opportunity. It's been 30 years too long, and I want to make their dream of reuniting with family come true before they lose any more family members.
