So… apparently we’ve decided that running 13.1 miles for fun is a good idea.
My dad, who is nearly 60, has decided to take on his half marathon, and because one person making questionable life choices apparently wasn’t enough, I’ve decided to join him for my first half marathon anddddd I’ve got 6 weeks to train.
So this could either be a really inspiring story about determination, family and pushing ourselves beyond our limits or a very embarrassing way of discovering that neither of us can actually run 13.1 miles.
We’ll be supporting each other, encouraging each other and getting each other to that finish line.
There’ll be aching legs, questionable pacing, plenty of complaining and at least one point where we both ask ourselves why we thought this was a good idea.
But ultimately, we’re going to do it together, just like we always have — pushing each other, taking the piss out of each other and refusing to let the other one give up.
So if you can spare anything at all, we’d be incredibly grateful for your support. Every donation will help give us something to focus on when our legs are screaming and we’re questioning every decision that led us here.
Dad is raising money for St Austell Shed & Georgia’s Voice — two amazing local charities supporting mental health and wellbeing and I’m raising money for Breast Cancer Research because of my Auntie Lou.
