Addressing Addictions and Creating Connections

Dream Campaign: Addressing Addictions and Creating Connections at Skye's the Limit Foundation. Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit the Dream Campaign for Skye's the Limit Foundation, INC, and any donation or a three-year pledge will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause which means so much to me. Skye's the Limit Foundation is a 501c3 Public Charity. Donations to us are tax deductible.

We are at a crucial time in our development to expand our reach to vulnerable youth and families. We are seeking to raise funds to support our 2023-2024 operating and programming budget. We began this journey in 2019 with the help of many generous individual donors. Over the last year, SLF has served just over 2,000 individuals, from vulnerable youth to supportive adults, thanks to the generous support of the Arizona Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family; Valley of the Sun United Way; Arizona Commission on the Arts; City of Phoenix Office of Arts & Culture; partner agencies; and individual donors. We have increased our reach by almost five times since 2019! In fact, in 2022, we have nearly doubled our reach in one year reaching just over 2000 individuals. Skye's the Limit Foundation's Arts and Resilience Program is an afterschool, culturally competent, trauma-informed art education and substance abuse prevention program. With the help of kind and generous donors such as yourselves, we've reached almost 5000 individuals through our partnerships and various trauma-informed engagement and training platforms since 2019. Can you imagine what we can do with a dedicated team of compassionate individuals and a dedicated site? We are seeking one-time donations, matches and three-year pledges to help us with our Dream of building a center filled with love for at-risk, vulnerable youth and young adults and a mental health training resource hub for trauma support specialists. Will you be a part of our growth and help us nurture the seed that was planted when Skye, our namesake, tragically died by overdose? In 2022, with an operating and program budget of $146,000, an investment of $73 supporting one person saved at least one life by addressing the primary prevention of addiction and suicide and creating life-saving connections with peers and leaders. There is no comparison in dollars to saving lives. Providing hope and light to those in need is invaluable. In her honor and name, it is our life-long mission to implement programming that will save lives, build connections and cultivate a thriving environment. We are committed to doubling our impact in the new year to come. An investment of $100 to provide support for one person will broaden our capacity to save even more lives from 2023 through 2024. Sustaining our programs to continue our impact is important to us and if you would consider a three-year pledge or a match on our donations, it would more than double our fundraising efforts to continue addressing addictions and creating connections as a primary prevention measure to overdose and suicide. Would you please consider supporting our Dream Campaign to Address Addiction and Create Connections? Please contact Keiko Ratcliffe, Founder and CEO of Skye's the Limit Foundation at [email redacted] to discuss how your dollars can help those who are living with trauma and feeling alone.

More information about Skye's the Limit Foundation, INC:

SKYE'S THE LIMIT FOUNDATION is a 501c3 Public Charity RECOGNIZING THE NEED FOR COMPASSION AND CONNECTION TO COMBAT THE SOCIAL ISOLATION THAT CAN LEAD TO SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND SUICIDE.

OUR VISION FOR SKYE'S THE LIMIT! FOUNDATION IS BUILDING A RESILIENT WORLD WHERE WE ALL THRIVE TOGETHER.

OUR MISSION is to prevent trauma-related losses by substance overdose and suicide by building resiliency and empowering youth, families, and communities through peer support, art, and wilderness therapy.

Skye's the Limit Foundation was created in light of the trauma-related overdose of our founder’s 19-year-old daughter, Skye Gina Ratcliffe Pilato, who, after two suicide attempts, resorted to drugs to numb the pain she was feeling in isolation. In her honor and recognizing that disconnection often drives addiction, Skye’s the Limit provides no-cost community education on trauma, harm reduction, relational health, and self-care and works to provide safe environments for youth who have experienced childhood trauma to speak out, express themselves, and ask for help.

Our mission is to prevent trauma-related losses by substance overdose and suicide by building resiliency and empowering youth, families, and communities. We recognize the need for compassion and connection to combat the social isolation and loneliness that can lead to substance abuse and suicide. Therefore, Skye's the Limit Foundation intentionally strengthens peer-to-peer, parent-and-child, and youth leader-to-youth relationships through engaging activities such as therapeutic arts programming and wilderness therapy designed to help youth thrive. While all are welcome, most of those served come from low-income households and nearly all the youth we serve have experienced multiple stressful and traumatic events, known as adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), which lead to higher rates of substance abuse and suicide. Reflecting the connection so crucial to the youth we serve, Skye’s the Limit actively partners with other organizations to build community capacity to support at-risk youth and promote the development of healthy communication and choices, supported by connections with peers and trusted adults.
