Arrels Foundation - Adam Pearl 18th Birthday

Thank you, my friend, for clicking the link! As my eighteenth birthday approaches and as my childhood slips away, I thought I might take a different approach to this event and ask for something special. As a collective birthday gift, I would like to make a donation in order to give back to Barcelona before I head off. Although there are thousands of organizations in the city to pick from and many good causes to support, I ultimately chose to dedicate this fundraiser to the Arrels Foundation. The Arrels Foundation is a longstanding organization dedicated to improving the lives of the homeless in the city of Barcelona.
Here is what they have to say about themselves;
"Arrels is an entity that, since 1987, looks after and guides homeless people who live in the city of Barcelona. We join them as they work towards a better, more independent life: covering their basic needs, providing them with social and medical attention, and offering housing to those who find themselves in a more vulnerable situation.

I have always felt for the people living without a roof in Barcelona. During the coldest nights and in the unfortunate case of a storm or rainy week, these are the people who have to bear it out. In the summer, homeless people are facing 35°C heat. Already, we are starting to turn our AC on at home.
Roughly 2,000 people live and sleep on the streets of Barcelona. Many are old, sick, chronically ill or disabled, and many have been living there for years
What's more, the COVID-19 situation has completely turned the tables upside down. With Spain having had the strictest lockdown in Europe and fears of contagion at an all-time high, homeless people are receiving far less help from generous passerby's than usual. Arrels has been working especially hard during these times in their best effort to protect the homeless while still providing their essential services.
