Adam Singing Challenge for Charity
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Adam, a British man living in the UK. My wife is from Sabah, Malaysia (formerly North Borneo), and we regularly visit her family there. During these visits, we've seen first-hand the challenges faced by people in remote rural areas, particularly the difficulty children have accessing education. This is especially true for girls, whose safety and the financial burden of long-distance travel create significant barriers.
My wife and I, along with her community, are supporting St. Maria Goretti Hostel in Binaong. This non-profit, run by dedicated Franciscan sisters, provides a safe and nurturing home for girls who have left their families to pursue their education. They desperately need our help to continue this vital work.
To raise funds, I'm taking on a personal challenge: I'll be singing in front of up to 200 people at the Kaamatan Harvest Festival, a major celebration for Sabah's indigenous people. The catch? I'll be singing in Kadazan Dusun, a language I've never spoken before! I have several months to learn, and hopefully, I won't embarrass myself too much!!. I'll share my progress, post a video of my performance, and, of course, provide proof that St. Maria Goretti has received our donations.
