Grocery Delivery for Marshallese Families

As some of you may know, our local Marshallese families are suffering immensely under the COVID-19 crisis. While they represent only around 2% of our local population, they account for over 50% of our local deaths attributed to COVID-19. We want to help in anyway that we can. Purchasing groceries for families in need is one small gift we can give to help ease the burden of grief these families carry.
*How this will work*
***Sign Up to Order Groceries***
If you’d like to help with the execution of this project you can contact Robin Atkinson by text only at [phone redacted] and sign up to be on call to do online grocery ordering. If we receive a specific request, we will forward you the address and the shopping list. You can make the order from any delivery service you choose, or you can do the shopping yourself. You will be responsible for purchasing and delivering or having delivered the groceries to the family’s home. The cost is typically $100-$150 dollars

Or you can donate money to this fundraiser and the funds will be used for grocery delivery when we receive an order. Any funds left over when the need has subsided will be donated directly to the Arkansas Coalition of Marshallese .

Please contact the Arkansas Coalition of Marshallese through their Facebook page to make a grocery delivery request. Requests will be forwarded on to us as they are able. This is not an emergency service, and it could take several days between the request and the delivery. We will help as many families as possible with the funds raised.

*note* Please note that Gofundme requires an administrator account that must be associated with an individual. This fundraiser was set up at the request of ACOM and as a personal favor from the fundraiser initiator. In order to keep administrative work off of the plates of ACOM, which is very busy helping with needs across many areas for the community, it was set up by Robin Atkinson to be managed by a small group of concerned friends. We recognize that it is not ideal for a white woman to be centered during this work, and we will try to find solutions as this progresses. Thank you for your understanding.
