Charity Projects For Orphans

Donation protected
In 2014, my husband and I took our boys on our first trip to Kenya to visit and meet my husband’s extended family. My husband’s mother and father founded a non-profit foundation in 2006 called the Isaka Memorial Foundation which built and now supports a local community center in the Siaya district of Kenya called the Nyamila Community Center (NCC) that is a haven for orphaned and vulnerable children.

While we were on our visit we went to the NCC where we distributed clothes we collected during our clothing drive to the community.

We were also fortunate during our visits to support a very successful fundraiser at the NCC where we raised enough money to brake ground on the New Vocational Training Centre.

During this amazing event our boys met the former Prime Minister of the Republic of Kenya, Raila Odinga;

and distributed new soccer uniforms and cleats we brought for them from the states to the local boys and girls soccer teams the NCC supports;

For our visit this year we would like to raise money for three projects to help the community:

1. Dairy Cow and Shed
The dairy cow will give NCC a way to make money selling the milk. This money will be used for materials, books, and supplies for the children and community.

2. Water tower and Structure
IMF raised funds for a water project that was completed in 2007. This project drilled a well that now provides clean drinking water to the community, which many have to walk long distances to fetch.

The next step, is to build a water tower to help make the collection of water easier and more efficient. The current process requires at least two people, one to pump the water and one to collect. The pump is also not easy for the elderly to  use.

3. New soccer gear and equipment for the three soccer teams NCC sponsors
As mentioned above, in 2014 we brought new uniforms for the soccer teams that the NCC sponsors. These teams play in many games around the area representing the NCC and the children and community truly enjoy it. The teams are currently still using the uniforms we brought in 2014 and we would like to bring them new uniforms but this time we would like to also provide soccer balls, goalkeeper gear, and coaches track suits. These coaches put in a lot of time with these kids and this would be our way to thank them.

We are leaving in June and would really love to be able to help NCC continue to improve the community not only through milk from a new dairy cow and a more efficient way to collect water but also through new uniforms and soccer equipment for the children.

Please help us meet our goal so we can all help the orphans and vulnerable children at Nyamila Community Center. 100% of the proceeds collected through this campaign will go to funding these projects.

Thank you for your time and support of the Isaka Memorial Foundation.
