10km Walk for the Vi Riddell Pain and Rehabilitation Centre
Allow me to introduce myself my name is Rylan Laplante. Over the past 13 years, I’ve been on a complex and deeply personal medical journey. For 7 of those years, I was a patient at the Vi Riddell Pain and Rehabilitation Centre at the Alberta Children’s Hospital. The care, compassion, and expertise I received there were life-changing, and I credit much of my progress to the support of that incredible team.
For the past 12 years, I was unable to walk. This spring, however, I’ve reached a milestone I once thought impossible. Through multiple years of difficult rehabilitation, I am beginning to walk again. To mark this achievement and give back to the clinic that played such a vital role in my recovery, I’ll be participating in a 10-kilometre walk on May 24th at 7:30 AM. My goal is to raise both awareness and much-needed funds for the Vi Riddell Pain Clinic, so that other children facing similar challenges can receive the same level of care and hope that I was fortunate to experience.
