Meet Daniel Kyle Pop, my overcoming nephew, and learn of his story of resilience through life's most restrictive barriers.
This is how he tells it!
"My name is Daniel Kyle Pop, I am 26 years old and have been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, spastic quadriplegia just 2 weeks after I was born. I'm non verbal, non ambulatory, but I'm using my iPad to communicate and be part of this world of technology! My disability doesn't stop me from dreaming and have my dreams come true! One of them was going to college, and I am living the dream, this Fall I will be a senior at Elmhurst University, Elsa Program , and I am hoping to continue my education in theater and digital media!
I have so many dreams, like any of you, but my disability makes it very hard for me to accomplish them. My muscles are extremely stiff and hurt very much, but my loving family, and extended family, and lots of friends made it possible for me through a fundraiser in 2020, to have Aquatic Therapy that helps with the relaxation of my muscles! Thank you with all my heart for each of you that have donated back in 2020, it means the world to me. I have been using Aquatic Therapy since October of 2022, and it's been such a blessing for my condition!!!
Accessibility of the Aquatic Therapy has been difficult, I need lots of help to get in and out, and in order to make it easier and have water-therapy at home with a Therapist, it requires a accessible deck with a hoyer lift. A certified therapist will only help once the Aquatic Therapy has a new covered deck with a Hoyer Lift installed. This will help me with going in and out of the Aquatic Therapy without the help of multiple people, like my mom, sister and even my grandma.
My dad is absent, so I need lots of help to have the deck done ! "
Therefore, the need for this fundraiser, and running a 10K with my Daniel Kyle Pop and his family on October 4th, 2025 to raise money for Daniels new deck with a hoyer lift is greatly needed.
