Please join Scarlet and Arely to raise funds for family, friends, neighbours and anyone else they can help after Category 5 hurricane Otis made landfall in Acapulco on October 25. Now calling Vancouver home, local dance instructors Arely and Scarlet were both born and raised in Acapulco, Mexico. A place where the majority of their family and friends still reside and whose homes and lively hoods have either been completely destroyed or badly damaged. Now faced with the immediate concerns for food, water and shelter Arely and Scarlet are organizing this fundraising in an effort to provide rapid much needed relief to their families and friends.
How would donations be handle:
All proceeds will be used to bring necessities to our families and friends by e-transferring the money to Arely’s family members who live in Mexico City , and then they will deliver everything bought by truck all the way to Acapulco. They will buy all the things needed , provide receipts and pictures of all donations given, which then later will be posted on our social media so all donors can see where their donations went to.
Here is their back story:
Scarlet and Arely were born and raised in Acapulco, Mexico. As proud Mexican Canadians who now call Vancouver home they have never lost the love for their homeland or connection to their love ones. Residing in Vancouver for more than 10 years each Scarlet and Arely are prominent members of Vancouver’s Salsa dance community.
They first met one another on their high school cheerleading team in Acapulco. Shortly after Scarlet introduced Arely to Latin dance when she invited her to learn Salsa at her father’s dance school, Impulso Latino. After high-school their pursuits took them separate ways but miraculously led them both to Vancouver.
Joining forces the girls would greatly appreciate your support for this important cause.
Acapulco needs us! ❤️️
