Help AC Viewing provide diagnosis in Chegutu

In 2021 Nyaradzo made the difficult decision to leave her job in the UK as a specialist Sonographer and Radiographer to set up a Medical practice in Chegutu, Zimbabwe. A/C Viewing Imaging Solutions P/L offers medical diagnostic services in a typical Third World environment. Nyaradzo had over 36 years of experience in this sector. The majority of her experience had been gained while she was working in the UK. She took early retirement from the NHS and personally funded the purchase of X-ray and Ultrasound machines which she was using.

Unfortunately on the 27th of August, both Nyaradzo and her husband Noel were involved in a fatal accident. Her Husband was badly injured and she died as a result of the impact of the accident. Prior to her death, she had set up a popular ultrasound room scanning patients.

Nraradzo often shared stories of desperate women who had been in labour for days with no money to get pregnancy scans. She regularly offered free scans to deserving patients who were referred by the poorly equipped Chegutu District Hospital. Due to the lack of diagnostic medical machines and qualified personnel incorrect diagnoses are leading causes of unnecessary death of mothers and babies. Additionally because of poor diagnosis, cancers are missed resulting in cancer progression and death. Nyaradzo did several prostrate, breast and cervical cancer diagnoses in the district and saved lives.

Nyaradzo was on a mission to change this narrative so she worked hard training other Sonographers in Zimbabwe and providing free medical diagnosis to those in emergency situations. The money raised will be used to.

1. Finishing the Radiology section of the medical practice. This includes building, roofing, plastering and radiation protection of the X-ray unit now at an advanced stage of development. 

2. Setting up a fund to pay for medical diagnoses for those who cannot afford when they come to A/C Viewing.

3. Funding volunteers to train Radiographers and Sonographers in Zimbabwe using A/C Viewing Imaging Solutions facilities

Nyaradzo was a loving mother and was focused on improving the welfare of those around her. She would always take it upon herself to make sure that the welfare of others would improve. When she moved to Chegutu and noticed that kids in the local area were illiterate she invited them to her home over the weekends and taught them basic literacy and numeracy lessons.

Our desire is to continue improving the welfare of the people in Chegutu and letting Nyaradzo's vision grow.
