Abu Al-Nasr: A Refugee Defamed by the German Media

Donation protected
Abu Al-Nasr, is a Palestinian refugee from the camps in Lebanon.

Him like many other Palestinians have been continuously going to the Pro-Palestinian Demonstrations, to in the end be defamed, doxxed, followed and beaten by the same cops, same journalists and media platforms. Which most of us know, work hand in hand.

One of the most known platform is Bild, known for headlines like
“Who is behind the Riot-Protests of the Jew Haters“,
“Barbakh-Gang: Raid against the agitators of the Jew Hater Protests”,
“The barbarians are among us” -

One of the person behind headlines like those is Iman Selfati. Not worth to mention more about him, I think his headlines speak for themself.

On the 17th of August 2024, Abu Al-Nasr went to a protest which passed at the HQ of Axel Springer at which the Counter-Protest also took place infront of which Iman Selfati was placed to document and film peoples reactions to further doxx specific people - which most people at this point know and reject as well as Abu Al-Nasr who tried to hide his face while Selfati filmed the protesters.

And this is what Iman came up with

Abu-Al Nasr stated: “I and many young people covered his phone camera. On the same day, it was reported in Bild and the Berlin Zeitung that I was giving a Hitler salute. Feeling ashamed, disgraced and targeted in such a personal way reflects the image of this newspaper - that is trying to distort our image through its work that does not care about the truth of the matter. To this day, I am afraid to raise my hand incorrectly and it will be recorded, and it has caused me a psychological complex.”

If you want to have a more detailed description of this moment you can check out MEMOs coverage of this moment.

On the 26.11.2025 he finally went to court against the journalist, I will not mention his name any further, as I believe he lives off on that.

He said that for him it was very important to take legal measures into his hands and get to court, as the reality of this situation and all the evidences standing in his favour he was shocked about the ruling of the court. He told me that -

“What prompted me to file the case was the clear and obvious injustice against me and our demonstrations in general, and I was sure that I would win the case because everything was clear from my coverage for Iman Silfati’s camera.

In the first court, there was clear bias, even the “witnesses” statements were inconsistent, and yet the judge did not rule in my favor.” For this reason, I filed an appeal against the decision because I am completely convinced that this does not represent my image or my morals, which the media is trying to attack because I am a refugee with black hair.”

Now he is sitting on the total costs of 4.700€ from the first court ruling, including lawyer fees, court fees and the reimbursement of costs for the other party. Abul-Nasr can’t and shouldn’t be alone in covering this costs. I'm organising this GoFundMe in order to transfer all fees to his lawyer - as he doesn't have the financial means to raise this amount by himself.

In the past months we have seen time and time again how the journalists of the main German press and media outlets have not only fuelled anti-Palestinian racism through their biased and outright racist and islamophobic reporting, but also directly collaborated with the police and the German authorities in order target and criminalise various comrades from our movement in order to justify deportations. This is a cowardly assault to our freedom and a complete disregard of their duties as journalist. German media does not report on the facts but is a mouthpiece of German Staatsräson.

We strongly believe that the next court ruling will be won and are committed to fight and to hold Bild and their journalists accountable. You don’t play with human lives like that and get a way with it.

“Today it was me, Tomorrow it could be someone else.
It is important to support this case as this article isn’t going just against me but against all protesters.

This media is trying in every way to completely turn the picture upside down, distort the truth and convey it to the naive German public, and we must confront it through a fair and unbiased judiciary.” - Abu Al-Nasr
