Hello! This film holds a story that every single person on this crew is beyond passionate to tell. Beyond going to things such as insurance and gear, the funds raised will be going to the crew and ensuring they have all the support they need to do their best work. This includes things such as food and gas!

This project is important to us in bringing to light the unspoken issue of drug abuse that falls on marginalized communities. This film tells an incredible story and we want to tell this as authentically as possible. We care deeply about this project and we want to see this film become a reality.

“Abstain” is about a girl who falls victim to a drug culture through

friends and her environment. As she struggles to make her way out,

she also attempts to reconnect with her Native American culture on

the way. Our main character is forced to face her party culture as

well as her Native American culture and how they interact. She is

brought to question why she participates in these things as well as

how to get out of them. This film explores themes of identity and drug

abuse. As a capstone film, we want to express who we are through

this film as well as who we have come to be through our time in

university. We want to tell a perspective that may not be as widely

talked about and bring attention to the experiences we have had at

our age that can connect with audiences in their personal lives and

how they have been affected by a similar culture.
