Support Abdi Haji and His Family – Year 14 Fundraiser

Since January 2025, our dear friend and fellow student, Abdi Haji (Year 14), has been seriously unwell and receiving treatment at the Royal Victoria Hospital. More recently, Abdi has been moved to Musgrave Hospital, where he is now receiving specialist care as part of his ongoing recovery journey.

This has been a deeply challenging time for Abdi and his family, and as a school community, we want to do all we can to support them.

In response, some of his Year 14 classmates, supported by St Colman's High & Sixth Form College, have come together with compassion and determination to organise a fundraiser in Abdi’s honour.

On Sunday, 18th May 2025 at 9:30am, eight brave St Colman's Year 13/14 students will take part in an abseil event from the Europa Hotel, kindly supported by Belfast Activity Centre. They are stepping off the edge (literally!) to raise money for Abdi’s family and show their support:

The school and community are incredibly proud of these students for representing the school in such a powerful and meaningful way.

All money raised through this GoFundMe will go directly to Abdi’s family, helping with ongoing costs and ensuring they can focus fully on his care and recovery.
