Able Coffee Roasters is our coffee roasting company based in Orange County, CA that aims to create paying jobs for individuals with autism and other disabilities. Our company currently has an eCommerce and an event based presence, with an ultimate goal of opening up a storefront coffee shop in the Summer of 2020! We have received a ton of local and national support and we believe we're ready for our big move!
ABLE COFFEE ROASTERS - COFFEE SHOP
Since we began roasting, Able Coffee Roasters has experienced immense growth and awareness over the past two years. Our business was started and is currently funded by us- Adeel and Anthony! Adeel, a behavior therapist in Orange County, and Anthony, a Special Education teacher- gained presence locally by being recognized by the Autism Speaks Organization and featured on Los Angeles' DASH Radio Network. With full support of the community and a unique mission Able Coffee Roasters was invited to attend the Los Angeles Coffee Festival in 2019 and the US Coffee Championships in 2020.
Currently, there is an 80% (Bureau of Labor Statistics) unemployment rate for individuals with disabilities and your donations can help lower that statistic, one roast at a time! We are continuing to move forward in this journey with our next step being to open up our first flagship coffee shop and roastery. With your help and contributions we want to create our shop staffed by individuals with various disabilities and create more paid employment opportunities in California- with an end goal of spreading it nationwide.
Able Coffee Roasters trains their employees and interns how to roast, package, label, and weigh our whole-bean coffee. With a storefront coffee shop we hope to create many more employment opportunities. Our goal is to operate a functional coffee shop and to use our space as a resource for those in the community by hosting events, workshops, and classes. This will help create a fully inclusive environment for professionals, educators, parents, and coffee enthusiasts.
Your donations will help us bring this goal to life and members of the community will be able to see The Able Workers in action as an inclusive, meaningful, and functional part of the community, while serving fresh organic coffee! Our coffee beans are sourced ethically from small trade farms across the globe and we proudly work in partnership with the women farmers of the Cafe Femenino program. This program gives women coffee farmers across the world the credit they deserve and voice they need to fight for themselves, their families, and their communities.
With our strong and passionate team we are confident that through our coffee shop, we will be able to create more employment opportunities because we truly believe EVERYONE IS ABLE and THERE IS A JOB FOR EVERYONE!
