Hi my name is Abigail I am nearly 15 years old and I am a member of Silver Arrows Explorer Scout Unit. I have been lucky enough to be selected to attend an Essex Scouts international trip to USA and Canada in 2027.

This is an amazing opportunity for me, I will get to visit New York, Toronto and Niagara Falls, along side these visits I will take part in a week-long camp / hike / canoe adventure through the beautiful mountains of North America.

The trip is costing £3,500 and I intent to fundraise as much as possible myself. I will be working with a group of fellow Scouts and Explorer Scouts also attending this and other international trips, we have organised a number of events including cake sales, boot sales, bingo nights, a sponsored marathon walk and may more. If you are also able to help with donations of prizes for these events no matter how big or small they would also be really appreciated.

This trip will help build my confidence and independence, it will develop my team work and leadership skills. Following the expedition, I will be able to take my experience and skills back to inspire the next generation of young people to take part in such amazing opportunities with both Scouting and Guiding.
