Abi Insley Needs New Equipment!
Our friends Dana and Bill Insley have a big beautiful family, including their precious daughter Abi. Abi has been a fighter from the very beginning of her life. When the Insleys met her while fostering her twin sister, Abi was on a ventilator, and doctors said she would be deaf, blind, unable to breathe, eat, talk, walk, and even bond to a family. Well as Dana always says, “But God...”
Abi is now 8 years old and has defied all of the odds, with God as her help and hope and her amazing family supporting her all the way. She walks with assistance, breathe, eats, communicates, and loves her family!
Last week Abi underwent major surgery on her hips to reconstruct a catastrophic hip issue-her hips were dislocated and her pelvic cradle was malformed. Now that she has had her surgery and is on the very long road to recovery, her parents are faced with having to replace so much of her adaptive equipment, from a wheelchair, to an adaptive swing (oneof Abi’s favorite activities and it can cost around $600!), to a stroller, to larger clothes to fit her wider hips. On top of these expenses Abi will need physicaltherapy and the Insley’s travel expenses will grow.
Due to Covid 19 many organizations that usually help families with funding for adaptive equipment are experiencing lack of funding themselves, as well as some being shut down for a time. So as a community who knows and loves the Insley family I am veryhopeful that we’ll be able to help raise money to help them. Dana and Bill want nothing more than for their children to thrive, and we can help Abi to do just that by donating any amount to help these needs! Please pass this around to your communities and please be in prayer for Abi as she recovers!
