This is the crowdfunder of Aberdeen Rathayatra who are privileged to be the first team north of the Antonine Wall to host this highlight of the Gaudiya Vaishnava Calendar
Join us this Saturday 26th July
1200-1600 for the awe-inspiring Rathayatra Parade.
The venue is Seaton Park Aberdeen AB24 1XS
This Chariot Festival of India has been gracing the parks and town squares of more than thirty British cities for over fifty years and yet this is the first time it has ventured north of the Firth of Forth
Feel the electric atmosphere as devoted souls come together, their voices resonating with melodious chants and joyous Kirtan. Picture yourself joining the festival, pulling the sacred ropes where every step is a dance!
Your generous donations will go towards the cost of this festival and your contribution will aid in helping to prepare snacks and refreshments for the family picnics and for enabling devotees from far and wide to witness a grand procession as the deities of Jagannath, Balarama, and Subhadra travel down St. Machar's Cathedral Walk and alongside the bonny, bonny, grassy banks of the Don.
This is more than just a festival; it's an opportunity to support a cherished cultural heritage and promote unity and inclusivity. By contributing to the Rath Yatra, you can help preserve and nurture this cherished tradition for generations to come.
Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will help us continue this age-old tradition and spread its radiance across the world.
Donate today and be a part of something truly extraordinary - a festival that transcends boundaries touches hearts, and connects souls. Together, let us ensure that the resplendent chariots of Rath Yatra keep rolling for generations to come - SEE YOU THERE!!
Donations will help towards organisation of the procession, Aberdeen Council fees, transportation of the chariot from south of the border, floral displays, and ethnic arts workshops for all age-groups, tradition dance and drama events in the week before and sfter the Chariot Festival. We also intend to publish a book to commemorate this historic event, which will surely become a welcome addition to the rich multicultural events diary of the city.
