Hi friends, family, and kind strangers—

I’ve always been a driven person, clinging tightly to my radical independence and wearing it like armor. But if this past year has taught me anything, it’s that trying to carry everything alone is exhausting—and unsustainable.

This year has been a whirlwind of change, loss, clarity, and courage. I chose to leave a job that was affecting my mental health, despite the stability it provided. I said goodbye to my beloved grandma Mary, who helped raise me. I watched the devastation of the LA fires wreak havoc all around the city I’ve called home the last decade. Needless to say, grief and burnout nearly consumed me.

Thankfully, God is good and this season has invited me to lean on the healing power of my favorite coping mechanism– Laughter! I've always wanted to use the stage for my comedy and now I get to do just that. This shift has also encouraged me to re-enroll in school, challenging myself to make the most with this one precious life I’ve been given, as I fully dedicate my time to my creative pursuits.

In this season of creative and personal rebirth, I’ve realized something else: I’m ready to move back home to Hawai`i. I want to reconnect with my roots, be near my loved ones, and ground myself in the place that shaped me.

But as many of you know, moving to the islands—especially in the middle of life transitions and creative pursuits—is not simple or cheap.

So here I am, doing something that feels scary and deeply uncomfortable: asking for help. I’m finally learning that asking isn’t weakness—it’s human. And that leaning into community care can be a powerful form of strength.

This fund is intended to help me:

• Ship my car, cats, and valuables safely to the islands

• Cover essential moving and resettling costs

• Ensure I land with strong footing without losing momentum and continuing my creative pursuits
