Hi, my name is Heather (Bunch) Lafferty, and I’m reaching out as a mother praying for help for my 17-year-old son, Aaron Curtis Young.

A few days ago, Aaron was in a horrific car accident with a family of four. Sadly, his best friend didn’t make it. The mother of that family suffered a brain bleed and swelling, and both the father and sister were also seriously hurt.

Aaron was left with 12 broken ribs, 2 broken hips, and 3 punctured internal organs. He’s had nearly 8 hours of surgery, has plates in his hips, as well as pins throughout his hips. He’s in so much pain and having panic attacks as he tries to recover — both physically and emotionally.

We’ve been in the hospital for over a week, and soon he’ll be moved to Jackson, Mississippi, for 3–4 months of rehab so he can relearn how to walk.

I’m a single mother of two boys — Aaron (17) and his little brother (9). I’m doing everything I can to stay strong for them, but we are struggling to keep up with bills, food, travel, and basic needs while I stay by Aaron’s side.

We need help keeping our home and essentials together while Aaron fights to heal. Any amount — no matter how small — will help us so much right now.
