Children’s Heartbeat Trust are a Northern Ireland Charity and a charity very special to Theresa.

They were invaluable when Aaron was scheduled for his open heart surgery at the Crumlin Childrens Hospital in Dublin last September. Always at the end of the phone supporting and providing advice of what to expect and unfortunately preparing you for the worse should that happen. They take the stress out of organising accommodation when your little one has to travel for surgery and offer families financial support for additional costs that arise such as hotel stays, meals out, fuel, tolls etc which can all build up very quickly especially when a 1 week stay turns into a 3 week stay. They are always fundraising to raise money for equipment for the specialist cardiac ward in the Royal Victoria Hosp. A lot of families like us were sent home with a specific SATS monitor which can cost up to £500 per child. They run family fun days out for little ones who live with Chronic Heart Disease which can be a great stress buster for parents too.
