Thank you for visiting my page.
On 7 May 2023, I will be partaking in a 10km run in Victoria Park in aid of a charity very close to my heart - the Guru Nanak Home for Handicapped Children. Those who know me well know I am definitely not the biggest fan of running!
The main aim of this incredible charity is to provide treatment and rehabilitation to physically handicapped children, suffering with life-changing deformities such as polio and club feet, with the goal of integrating them back into society as healthy individuals. This is done through the amazing work of doctors Anil and Sureshwar Pandey.
The charity also provides to each child three hot meals a day and running, filtered water and so much more to make each and every child feel at home and part of a big and loving family during their stay.
As well as providing the utmost care and giving their unconditional love to every child staying at the home, one of the most rewarding aspects of the Home is that the staff are mostly past patients who are now happy and able, and most importantly, willing to help further patients as a gesture of their gratitude.
Having had the chance to visit the Home personally, I could see that the homely ambience one receives entering the home clearly shows that every child staying in the home is part of a large, loving family.
A characteristic which makes the GNTF even more special is that everything is done free of charge to the patients so it is run almost solely on donations. For this reason,
all of us at the Guru Nanak Trust Fund would be very grateful for any donations to help us raise money for this important cause and to keep a big smile on the children's faces so please do get involved if you are able to!
Thank you!
