Hi all, my name is Crystal. I am mother to Christian and mom in law to Aaliyah. Aaliyah has been in the hospital in Lubbock for 3 days due to developing a post partum infection, sepsis, and now pneumonia. She had her baby on January 2nd and just didn’t feel right ever since. She went to get checked out on Friday and was given a bag of fluids and sent home. On Saturday, she had a heart rate in the low 200’s, 104 fever, and couldn’t breathe, bp was 75/40, and she was confused with severe chills. After being in trauma room in ER, she was admitted to cardiac floor and given more fluid boluses, multiple antibiotics, and a medication to induce uterine contractions to pass what apparently was left behind. With all these medications came uncomfortable side effects. Ct scans, Echocardiogram, bloodwork, dopplers, etc. They struggled with her blood pressure, temp, and heart rate for about 24 hours. During this time she couldn’t see, hold, or breastfeed her baby like most new moms. She was able to pump some milk once stable and then the milk was sent to me for baby. Her mom has been by her side while Christian went to work because his job wouldn’t give him the time off. Once stable they were able to move Aayliah off the cardiac floor to a family floor where baby could come off and on. She is stable now and doing better, but has developed pneumonia and is on 4 different antibiotics and requiring some oxygen. We are asking for any amount of money that y’all can give just to help them get through January- rent, utilities, fuel back and forth to hospital, etc., so that Christian can be there with her and the baby.
