Hi, my name is Gina.

On March 16, my cousin Jamie Rodriguez was in a tragic car accident. Jamie was revived at the scene of the accident and transported to the hospital where it was determined that Jamie no longer had any brain activity. She was an organ donor. She spent multiple days on life support in order to line up recipients for her organs. Matches were found for her heart, pancreas, liver, and both kidneys, as well as many other people who will be helped through her tissue and eye donation. On March 20th, Jamie made her final journey to the OR to give this precious gift.

While Jamie did not survive this accident, her oldest daughter did. Aalayah is still in the hospital suffering from serious injuries and has already undergone a major surgery to repair multiple fractures. She also leaves behind her younger daughter, Aleenah, who was not in the car.

Jamie was a wonderful mother and there was nothing more important to her than her girls. She was taken from them way too soon due to a careless and speeding driver. I believe that through all of this, the MOST important thing to Jamie would be knowing that her girls are taken care of. Let’s help do that.

All donations received will be put into two accounts, one for Aalayah and one for Aleenah. The accounts will only be able to be accessed by them, when they turn 18. While no amount of money will bring their mom back or heal their hearts, if we all come together, we can do for them what Jamie would have done and no longer has the chance to.
