Greetings Southeastern Climbers! Your local Atlanta Chapter of the American Alpine Club is here with some exciting news! We are raising funds to build a climber's kiosk in Tallulah Gorge State Park. Tallulah Gorge is a chunk of pristine wilderness in Northeast Georgia that boasts some of the best traditional multi-pitch climbing in our region. Nestled in the Appalachians, you can expect to see loads of waterfalls and exposed views.

Importantly, after speaking with his family, we are proud to announce that this kiosk will be dedicated to the memory of Greg Allen. Many years ago, Greg and his wife had their first date climbing in the gorge and he was always an automatic signature on any work being done in the park. With the Greg Allen Memorial Climbers’ Kiosk, Greg’s work will not only be remembered, but continued for many more years. A special plaque with Greg’s name will be created and placed atop the memorial. We hope you will join us as we complete this effort. 

Tallulah Gorge State Park Overview 

Historically, this has been an inconsistent place for the climbing access and Atlanta Chapter's Co-Chair, Wes Whitaker, is working to develop not only a sustainable relationship with the park but, also to provide resources for climbers in the park, such as this kiosk.

Please consider helping the American Alpine Club - Atlanta Chapter with this project! The funds will go towards building materials and the logistical resources needed to accomplish the Climbing Kiosk in the Tallulah Gorge Wilderness.
