20km for 20days, Steps towards stomping out cancer

Hi, my name is Kurt Northausen.

Starting on the 11th of August 2025 I’ll be running 20km for 20 days, in hopes to raise much needed funds to go towards ERH cancer and wellness centre and cancer council Victoria.

What am I doing? This fundraiser will involve me running 20km a day for 20 days, 400km total. I will be completing the daily runs around my full-time job, and young family. Monday to Friday I will be running around my home town of Tongala Victoria, and will be completing this at around 4.30am in time to get to work. On the weekends, I'll be completing my running in various small towns inviting any runners who may wish to participate along the way to support, this will be followed up by a coffee in said towns. A schedule is yet to be locked in for this but is in the works. There will be a social media page attached to this fundraiser with regular updates.

Why am I doing this you may ask ? Well the simple answer is, I fucking hate cancer. Unfortunately over the years I have lost family to cancer, and in more recent times work mates have also lost the fight. This is a situation that impacts so many people and I am over feeling like there’s nothing I can do to help, I want to put my energy into some thing worth while and help the people in my community.

Who is this fundraiser supporting? I’d like to help the great people at ERH cancer wellness centre so they can continue doing their fantastic work helping support people in the community go through their cancer treatments. As well as raising money for Cancer council Victoria to help them with vital research to find a cure for cancer, and cancer research. Funds will be split evenly between the two.
