Megan's Medical Emergency

Hello, my name is Ashley and I am setting up this fundraiser on behalf of my cousin Megan.

On Janurary 13th, 2024,Megan suffered a ruptured brain anerysm in Fort McMurrary. She was urgently flown, from Fort McMurrary to the University of Alberta hospital in Edmonton, Alberta. Currently, she is in the Neuro ICU where she went through emergency brain surgery to stop the bleed. While she underwent brain surgery, the doctors found a second unruptured anuersym which will need to be surgerically removed at another date.

On Monday January 15th in the morning, Megan showed good signs by giving the nurses a thumbs up. However, since Monday afternoon, she has only responded with deep pressure on the nerves. Currently, doctors are concerned that she may have had a stroke, but because of the heavy sedation, it is still undetermined. At this point, she will be staying in the ICU until further progression is shown.

Megan has a 8 year old daughter, Lexi, who has Cerebal Palsy. While Lexi has been navigating her own health problems, her mom has been the person in her life that Lexi relies on the most. Now with her mom in this serious medical condition, her family members are left with the very tough decision on what to do now.

The medical needs will be changing and it isnt determined if or when she will need medical equipment like motorized wheel chairs, hospital bed at home etc. We plan on getting her items out of her Fort McMurray home and bringing it to Edmonton in a storage unit.

This go-fund me will be used for travelling, Uhaul trailer, parking, storage, meals, accomodations, fuel, utilities, childcare for Lexi and any other necessities they need. This is not limited to just Megan, as now Lexi's needs are being considered as well.
