Neo Community was founded on a simple belief: that no one should face poverty, isolation, or crisis alone.

For almost a decade, we have worked alongside local people across Wirral to tackle hardship, improve wellbeing and create opportunities for lasting change. What began as a small grassroots food initiative has grown into a thriving community-led charity supporting tens of thousands of people each year.

But Neo has never simply been about food.

We believe that communities are strongest when people feel connected, valued and empowered to shape the places where they live. We know that while food can meet an immediate need, true resilience is built through relationships, opportunities, skills, confidence and hope.

Every day at Neo, people walk through our doors for many different reasons. Some are struggling with the rising cost of living. Some are experiencing loneliness or poor mental health. Some are looking for a safe place for their children to belong. Others simply want to meet new people, learn something new, volunteer, or give back to their community.

Whatever brings someone to Neo, they are welcomed with dignity, kindness and without judgement.

What We Do

Neo is home to a wide range of community activities and support, including:

A Pay As You Feel Community Café

A Social Supermarket helping families stretch household budgets

Youth clubs, holiday activities and family programmes

Adult learning opportunities and wellbeing sessions

Warm and welcoming community spaces

Community organising and social action projects

Support for schools, early years settings and care experienced young people

Volunteer opportunities that help people build confidence, skills and friendships

Seasonal initiatives, including Christmas support, food hampers and community celebrations

We don't believe in queues or labels. We believe in sharing a brew, listening to one another, building friendships and creating spaces where people feel seen, heard and valued.

Why We Need Your Support

Demand for our services continues to grow.

While grants and commissioned programmes allow us to deliver specific projects, they rarely cover the everyday costs that keep Neo open, responsive and able to support people when they need us most.
