See My Son Again

I am raising funds to afford a lawyer and court fees to get visitation rights to see my five-year-old son, Finnley. About two months ago, his mother randomly decided to text my mother that my family and I will never see him again. Since then, I have had to track down where he even lives due to her secrecy and found out they have been living in Arkansas for the last year (I would always pick him up from her mother's as she did not like to directly interact with me).

Up until just two months ago, I have been seeing him every other weekend since she and I split four years ago. There was nothing I did to spur her recent actions, but she has been subtlely trying to push me out of his life in minor ways. For example, telling him that his last name isn't Brookman; telling him not to tell me or my family where he lives; not allowing him to call me when we're apart.

After speaking with a lawyer in Arkansas (who quoted me the $3,500 that I am seeking in aid), he informed me that because I live in Missouri and not Arkansas, and because we never had a formal court-ordered visitation/custody agreement, I can't get custody rights without moving to Arkansas. Even then, it would be slim due to state laws favoring the mother. She comes from a very wealthy family and I, unfortunately, do not. 

I'm not normally the type to seek handouts, but I am humbling myself as it is the only way I am going to see my son any time soon in the near future. 

Anything anyone can do to help is appreciated. He is my whole world and everything I have to live for. All I want is to see my son again- the last time I saw him, he was begging to stay with me longer, and now I haven't been able to see him for the longest in his entire life.
