Hello!
A recent car accident has left a young family in complete disarray, and we are calling for any help you can offer in order to get them back on their feet.
On Thursday the 17th of July, Caitlin Scown and her 3 children (8 years, 6 years, 14 months) were involved in a car accident resulting in many injuries and loss of their vehicle. We are so incredibly fortunate to still have them with us despite the damage done.
Caitlin was left with multiple broken bones and lacerations to her body, while the children were thankfully only left with minor cuts and bruises. Physically all involved will be okay but mentally this event will and has taken a toll on the family.
Caitlin was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital, where she has been receiving treatment for her injuries and will remain there until moving to a rehab facility. All 3 children have since been released and are staying in the care of family members while their father, Owen Scown, goes between home and his wife.
Life for this family will be incredibly difficult in the upcoming months as they try and navigate their new normal. These months will be filled with extra doctor's appointments, rehab and physio along with their regular day to day bills and expenses. Due to her injuries, Caitlin will require heavy care to begin with, and many supports will need to be put in place within their home to support them through this time.
As Owen will be needed with his family during this time and unable to work his regular hours, we ask for your help. We do not ask for large lump sums but during this time so much as $10 will go a long way.
All funds raised will go towards Owen and Caitlin's family and help them to pay for fuel, rent, food and any extra expenses that arise during this time.
Your help and generosity are greatly appreciated!!
