Supporting FOUR children from India for a year :)

Donation protected
HI - SO HERE IS AN UPDATE

Good news! In less than 24 hours lovely people donated enough to support my original focus of 2 young girls - Archana and Sapna. (I hope I get to meet them this year too)

Infact we raised over my target of £880. It costs £440 per child for a year of support (schooling - including tuition, books, uniforms, transport, food and basic supplies).

So I thought to myself there is no harm is doing a final push and trying to raise enough for 2 young boys who are in need of sponsorship too.  Aakash & Ankush were enrolled in school in 2017 and it would be amazing if we could help them have another year of education. I ask if you could possibly see if you could spare any amount, big or small,  literally every penny adds up, maybe you could do without a few coffees and we can together change their lives.

THE ORIGINAL STORY

I’ve never done this before, but I feel it’s time to use my voice for good and be of service in this weird and wonderful world.

I’m reaching out to you all to ask you all to do something nice, that will literally change the lives of two young girls from the slums of India.

Backstory: I recently met an amazing yoga teacher, called Caleb - who arranged for me to practice for free with him to help ease intense anxiety I have been struggling with.

I told him about a dream of mine to go to India and help children and Caleb told me I can volunteer with a fundraising initiative he founded called the Academy of Hope - supporting impoverished children with education.

During my research I found out two of the beautiful girls recently lost their sponsors and school fees are due to be paid next week.

The total annual cost per child is merely £440 for schooling (including tuition, books, uniforms, transport, food and basic supplies).

The first girl is Sapna whose lost both of her parents at age 11. (Her father died and her mother remarried and abandoned her). Her grandmother is frail and cannot afford the school fees. She has been begging and cleaning to try to raise the funds but its not enough given the low pay in India.  If Sapna is sponsored this will give her grandmother such a sense of happiness and freedom and ease the pressure. Please see the video of Sapna if you wish to.

The second child is 7 year old Archana who is so cute and beautiful. She was first enrolled in 2017 and it literally breaks my heart if she will not be able to continue in school.

I thought about my amazing network of family and friends, and if everyone donates the value of a few cocktails/a meal or a new jumper out we can literally put these two children through an education for a year.

There are so many more children in need in the same town but I decided to focus on these two girls as its an achievable target.

Together, we just need to raise £880.

Any surplus funds will go towards the education of another child or supplies for all the children who are pretty much left to their own devices in the village.

If you are interested in sponsoring a child for a year this would be amazing and is of course possible.

Caleb asked if I want to FaceTime with the girls but I want to wait until I can give them good news.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and thank you in advance if you choose to help.

I’m excited to be doing what I can to pay it forward and to help give these girls a chance at an education, something we perhaps take for granted.

Let’s be kind, help others, and trust that our generosity will be returned to us tenfold, as we all experience the abundance this wonderful world has to offer.

Sending so much appreciation, thanks and love.
