A worthy goodbye for every baby

We are Joris & Lola, and we are collecting funds for the Aya Memoriam Foundation.

Three weeks ago, my wife and I lost our daughter at the end of my wife's pregnancy due to a placenta abruption. We were looking forward to welcoming our baby daughter into her life. The extremely painful reality is an empty crib filled with tears. My wife will never be the mother she wants to be for her daughter. I will never be the loving father for my baby girl. Our son never will be the big brother of his little sister. We are a family of four, and she will be forever with us.

Situations like this put you on a rollercoaster ride you don't want to make. In a very short period, all kinds of things you don't want to arrange need to be arranged.

The hospital arranged contact with the Aya Memoriam Foundation. This non-profit foundation offers to take photos of babies who did not get the chance to live their lives.

We have learned that these professional photos are very valuable to us, and every parent should have this opportunity in this situation. We created memories we did not wish for, but we are grateful for having them.

Besides making photos, the Aya Memoriam Foundation offers help with creating a worthy goodbye. A worthy goodbye does not come for free but is very important. Not every parent will be in a financial situation where there are sufficient funds to have this goodbye for their baby.

We are in a fortunate situation that we did not have to compromise on our daughters' goodbye, and we wish for every parent to have a proper goodbye for their lost baby.
