A Widow's Hope: Overcome Isolation
Donation protected
Hello everyone, I am starting this GoFundMe for my un-biological sister who lost her husband in the middle of August to a rare form of gallbladder cancer. They uprooted their lives from where they were living and the beautiful home they had built and quickly moved closer to a Dr who was more familiar with his form of cancer in hopes of a better outcome. This dr is out of Sloan Kettering in NYC and has an office in NJ. Both places are too expensive to live in when you aren’t working because you’re sick or because you’re taking care of your sick husband. They moved into a fixer upper in the Pocono’s to be as close as possible to the Dr. Unfortunately and devastatingly, the cancer won. They had been together since they were 16 years old and he passed away a few months before his 56th birthday. They loved each other BIG, they were the couple you strive to be but like a lot of us “middle class” ppl they had no life insurance. Who really thinks they’re going to get that sick so young? Made me think now but I didn’t before either. Any money they had went towards the move, the house, medical bills, and a single used SUV for his comfort traveling to the Dr and for his treatments. The house is in the woods in the Poconos in PA, a half hour drive to any stores, etc. The problem now is the car has broken down 3 times since her husband passed away. She can’t find work without a reliable vehicle. She did not want me to do this as this is another gut punch for her, that’s why I am not mentioning her name. If I wasn’t “middle class” I’d give her the money myself but unfortunately I don’t have it so here I am sucking up my pride and asking any good people out there to help her try to get back on her feet. It’s been one hit after another for her since her husband’s diagnosis and passing. She is isolated and alone with no working vehicle. She won’t be able to pay her mortgage if she can’t get a job. All of this after losing the love of her life. No one should ever have to experience this!! My deepest and sincerest thank you to any and all who are able to contribute. I understand the timing sucks due to the holidays but death and despair don’t work around the seasons.
