My name is Eva Maria Rivera, and I am raising funds to help elderly patients in El Salvador who are suffering in silence inside hospitals and care facilities.

This cause is deeply personal. My father, Eduardo Rivera, an elderly man who entered the hospital in need of care and dignity, experienced abuse and neglect while hospitalized. What my family witnessed opened my eyes to a painful reality: many elderly patients—especially those who are sick, bedbound, or without strong advocates—are vulnerable to mistreatment, fear, and exploitation.

No elderly person should ever be harmed while seeking medical care. No family should have to wonder whether their loved one is safe in a hospital bed.

Through this fundraiser, I aim to:

Support elderly patients in medical need

Provide basic supplies, comfort items, and advocacy

Raise awareness and help prevent elder abuse in healthcare settings

Be physically present as an advocate for those who have no voice

My father is now safe, but many others are not. This effort is for them.
