Hi, my name is Andres.

When I was just 2 years old, I was diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth type 1 disease, a genetic condition that affects the nerves and muscles, leading to progressive weakness and loss of mobility. Because of this, I use a wheelchair every day.

Despite the challenges, I’ve always believed that my situation doesn’t define my dreams. My biggest goal is to inspire others to keep going no matter what life brings, and to show that with passion and perseverance, anything is possible.

Together with my girlfriend (and our beautiful son), we created a photography and videography company called DNA Studio Official. Through our work, we capture life’s most important moments—weddings, quinceañeras, elopements, corporate events, family portraits, couples’ sessions, and more. This business is not just our livelihood, but also a way to share stories, spread joy, and build a better future for our little family.

About a year ago, I applied for a program that helps cover the adaptation costs of a wheelchair-accessible minivan—and I was accepted! This was an incredible blessing. Now, the only step left is to purchase the van itself, which costs $50,000.

That’s why I’m reaching out here: for help in making this dream a reality. This van will give me more independence, allow me to travel safely with my family, and open new doors for us to grow our business and provide a better future for our son.

Cuando tenía apenas 2 años fui diagnosticado con Charcot-Marie-Tooth tipo 1, una condición genética que afecta los nervios y los músculos, causando debilidad progresiva y pérdida de movilidad. Por esta razón, utilizo silla de ruedas todos los días.

A pesar de los retos, siempre he creído que mi situación no define mis sueños. Mi mayor meta es inspirar a otros a seguir adelante sin importar lo que la vida traiga, y demostrar que con pasión y perseverancia todo es posible.

Junto a mi novia (y nuestro hermoso hijo), creamos una empresa de fotografía y video llamada DNA Studio Official. A través de nuestro trabajo capturamos los momentos más importantes de la vida—bodas, quinceañeras, eventos corporativos, retratos familiares, sesiones de pareja y más. Este negocio no solo es nuestro sustento, también es una forma de contar historias, compartir alegría y construir un mejor futuro para nuestra familia.

Hace un año apliqué a un programa que cubre los costos de adaptación de una van accesible para silla de ruedas—¡y fui aceptado! Esta fue una gran bendición. Ahora, el único paso que falta es comprar la van en sí, que tiene un costo de $50,000.
