A True Hero, Needs Our Support

Our friend and one of our most selfless and dedicated community members, Kate Buckwald, is facing an incredibly difficult time right now. A cherished member of our Community Brigade and a true hero to so many, Kate was involved in a car accident that resulted in the total loss of her beloved 2006 Toyota 4Runner. She now faces not only the aftermath of the accident but also medical bills, treatment costs, and the need to secure a rental car as she works to put the pieces back together to replace her truck and continue her studies for her EMT certification.

Her service as a first responder with our local Community Brigade is a testament to her dedication, courage, and selflessness. She has been at the front lines of some of our community’s most challenging moments, including the Franklin Fire and the Palisades Fire. During the Franklin Fire, when flames roared dangerously close to our homes and families, Kate was there, ensuring the safety of our community, providing support to evacuees, and coordinating efforts alongside her fellow Community Brigade members. When the Palisades Fire broke out and threatened our neighbors once again, Kate was at the heart of the efforts, working tirelessly to protect lives, homes, and businesses. Her bravery is inspiring, and her contribution to our safety cannot be overstated.

We’re aiming to raise $25,000 to help Kate cover medical expenses, secure a rental car, and provide the funds needed for a down payment on a new vehicle so she can continue to serve our community. These funds will also go toward necessary treatments and recovery, allowing her to focus on healing and rebuilding her life. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a real difference.
