After losing our 21-year-old daughter, we are left with overwhelming medical and funeral debt. We humbly ask for your help to cover these costs and our basic living expenses as we grieve and try to rebuild our lives.
We are deeply grateful to her friends in Los Angeles who held a memorial service in her honor for Karen Yejin Jang—Due to the sudden passing of her, we could only hold a private funeral in Korea.
On July 16, 2025, Karen passed away after a struggle with mental health, still grieving the loss of her boyfriend in a tragic car accident on April 11.
For three months after that, she fought to heal—exercising, leaning on friends, attending church, and traveling to Korea for comfort.
We thought she was recovering. But just before returning to the U.S., pain overcame her once again, and we lost her forever.
In her final note, Karen wrote:
"I wish I had more time with my family and friends…
but I was so immature."
.........
Her last text was, “Sorry, Mom”.
This fundraiser will pay medical bills and support counseling for our family.
Every gift—no matter the amount—will ease this burden and give us space to heal.
If you cannot give, please share this campaign.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your compassion, prayers, and support during the most painful time of our lives.
