A Temazcal for change in El Salvador

Donation protected
Yek tunal to everybody!
Yek tunal means 'Good day' in Náhuat- one of the native languages spoken in the Mesoamerican region before the Spanish colonisation. In El Salvador, this language is on the verge of extinction.

This campaign is to support the work of Nana Margarita (Nana is a title to respectfully address an elder, and respected woman of an Indigenous community).
Nana Margarita is an Indigenous woman and community leader from El Salvador, working for the preservation of ancient traditional practices and cultural memory. Unfunded, she is working on this community project while navigating and resisting political, and religious discrimination.
The community is building a Temazcal, a pre-hispanic ceremonial space for communal practices: gatherings, improving health, spiritual healing, and for women to give birth.

The money donated for this campaign will go directly into the costs of building the Temazcal. Construction has already started and needs our support for the continuation of the project.

Tasujkamati!
(Thank you!)
