Hi everyone! My name is George Foster, a 17 year old from Cape Cod, MA, and I’m raising money for the victims of the war in Ukraine directly through Nova Ukraine. I have also written a play about WW1 to connect the tragedy of the past to the tragedy of today in order to exemplify that “war never changes” and the horrific cost of it remains ever present.

This notion is well illustrated by World War I and the modern Russo-Ukrainian War, two conflicts similar not only in impact and style of combat, but also in the unfathomable human suffering.

It is these similarities that have led me to write this play. Not a Great War is a one-act stage play about the psychological and moral experiences of young English soldiers on the Western Front during World War I. Through dark comedy, I attempt to portray one of the most brutal wars in history and how it can be misrepresented as a glorious adventure.
