Hello my name is kayla and i’m a single mother. I’m reaching out for help during one of the hardest times in my life.

While I was pregnant, I lost my job, which led to me becoming homeless. Since then, I’ve been doing everything I can to survive—staying in shelters, hotels when possible, and even sleeping in my car. Despite these challenges, I continued applying for income-based housing, hoping for a chance at stability for myself and my baby.

On February 26, 2026, I welcomed my son into the world. Becoming a mother has only made me more determined to give him a safe, stable home. Today, I finally received good news—one of the apartments I applied to has an opening for us. However, I must come up with the move-in costs by Friday, April 24, 2026, or I will lose this opportunity.

The total amount needed is $3,210, which includes the first month’s rent, last month’s rent, and the security deposit (each $1,070). Due to unpaid maternity leave and my current situation, I am unable to cover these costs on my own.

I am asking for any support you can give to help me secure this home for me and my son. This would mean everything to us—having a safe place to sleep, a stable environment for my baby, and a fresh start after everything we’ve been through.
