Dear Friends of Erin,

I hope this finds you all well!

As you probably know, Erin’s birthday is coming up on March 20th.

What you may not know is that she recently experienced a devastating burglary, losing a lifetime’s worth of cherished jewelry. It’s been a deeply traumatic experience for her, and she hasn’t wanted to talk about it —which is why some of you may not have heard. Given this, please be mindful if you reach out to her.

To lift her spirits, I thought it would be thoughtful if we all chipped in for a meaningful piece of jewelry to gift her as a surprise.

I was thinking £100 each, but of course, anything—more or less or nothing at all (you may not even like her anymore!) —is completely fine. If you contribute, please do it anonymously so that noone feels embarrassed.
