Ealing’s first Black cultural hub needs £65k to continue!

Donation protected
CACE is looking for a new home. In September 2025 we are required to leave our present location in West Ealing.
Help us source a space to continue our work creating a cultural hub within the Black Caribbean and African community in Ealing, West London.
WHY NOW?
Despite having a presence in Ealing, West London since the 1700s, the Black community here has still not got its own cultural hub.
This is why CACE (the Caribbean and African Collective, Ealing) is fundraising for the cost of a lease, as well as a member of staff to run the space for the first year, while we build up sufficient income to pay our own way.
Our long-term ambition is to source a building that wholly belongs to us, and this will be the next step towards that goal.
WHO IS CACE?
CACE is a group made up of organisations and individuals of Black Caribbean and African origin, set up as a social enterprise in 2024, and working together for the establishment of a dedicated cultural centre for the Black community in Ealing, West London.
We run the pop-up Caribbean African Arts Centre at the SET Ealing space in West Ealing and exist to combat social isolation and boost wellbeing (primarily but not exclusively) in the local Black community via poetry, creative writing and filmmaking workshops, table-top sales, business networking, theatre trips, exhibitions and carnival activities.

SUPPORT THE FUTURE OF OUR WORK
Our mission is to share Black culture and history with the wider community to promote cross-cultural understanding and be actively anti-racist.
In our borough of Ealing, other communities get the lion's share of the funding to support their activities, and despite our significant contribution to the borough and to the UK as a whole, the Black community struggles to get a foothold.
We have been running weekly events in our temporary space in West Ealing for seven months, and are becoming well-established in the community. Yet now we are being moved on, and we only have a few weeks (until September 2025) to find a new space – a dedicated space of our own where we can showcase our heritage and build a legacy in the community.
HELP US FUND A NEW HOME
Help us continue something powerful and show Ealing Council that what we have is to be celebrated and not thrown away. Other boroughs like Islington, Lambeth, and Hackney have their own Black cultural spaces and for Ealing to compete as a borough of culture, we should too.
