I always feel better when I am able to help kids in the Rift Valley of Kenya. The children there walk miles to school through grasslands filled with zebras, giraffes, Cape buffalo and sometimes lions. Many are so poor they only eat once a day at night. A cup of donated beans and corn meal cooked by parents at the school mid-day is key to their health and ability to learn. We’ve been feeding the students at a small school called Mbogo but this year it closed because the building was no longer safe. The children were moved to a bigger school called Nderit. It is a great school, but it cost them their lunch!
Nderit School has 500 students and to give all of them lunch will cost about $150 a week. I know it’s hard to give a lot but I figure if 10 people were willing to commit to $15 a week, we could do it.
-$15 will feed 50 students for a week
-$150 will feed all of the children for a week
-$30 will buy a desk. We have donated 30, but there are still 30 students standing in class
-$600 will feed everyone for a month
I believe giving kids at chance at a better Iife is a great way to feel good about ourselves. Please give whatever you can to help these kids have a bright future.
